Das neue System wurde auf Wunsch des F-35 Joint Program Office in Hill AFB entwickelt. Neben der F-35 wurde das neue System auch f\u00fcr andere g\u00e4ngige Kampfflugzeuge als plattform\u00fcbergreifendes Werkzeug validiert. Die Teilnehmer setzten das neue Bergungssystem ein, um ein F-16-Flugzeug mit einem simulierten Ausfall des Bugfahrwerks anzuheben und zu transportieren. Das neue System kann Kampfflugzeuge mit eingeklapptem oder besch\u00e4digtem Bug- oder Hauptfahrwerk bergen und ist sowohl f\u00fcr weiche und unebene als auch f\u00fcr harte B\u00f6den geeignet. Das System minimiert das Risiko von Folgesch\u00e4den an der 5th Gen und anderen Kampfflugzeugen und maximiert gleichzeitig die Sicherheit des Personals.
