Kenya Airport Authority Completes Investment in Disabled Aircraft Recovery Kit<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) and AMS Aircraft Recovery, Ltd (UK) are pleased to announce the completion of a major investment in Aircraft Recovery technology and equipment. This critical infrastructure expands KAA\u2019s ability to respond to incidents of disabled aircraft that block runways and disrupt airport operations. The equipment includes advanced tools to tow, lift and remove aircraft that cannot move under their own power or with the normal tools and equipment found at airports. Importantly, the equipment maximizes personnel safety and minimizes the risk of further damage to the aircraft. As an integral part of the investment, KAA personnel received extensive hands-on training in the UK and in Kenya.<\/span><\/p>

Incidents of disabled aircraft occur due to blown tyres, collapsed landing gear and excursions of the aircraft off the runway and onto soft ground.\u00a0 Though rare, these incidents can result in extended delays and disruptions to airport and airline operations as well as inconvenience to passengers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
