Le nouveau syst\u00e8me a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 \u00e0 la demande du Bureau du programme conjoint F-35 \u00e0 Hill AFB. Outre le F-35, le nouveau syst\u00e8me a \u00e9t\u00e9 valid\u00e9 avec d'autres avions de combat courants en tant qu'outil multiplateforme. Les participants ont utilis\u00e9 le nouveau syst\u00e8me de r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration pour soulever et transporter un F-16 pr\u00e9sentant une panne simul\u00e9e du train avant. Le nouveau syst\u00e8me peut r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer des avions de combat d\u00e9sempar\u00e9s dont le train avant ou le train d'atterrissage principal s'est affaiss\u00e9 ou a \u00e9t\u00e9 endommag\u00e9. Le syst\u00e8me minimise le risque de dommages secondaires aux avions de combat de la 5e g\u00e9n\u00e9ration et \u00e0 d'autres avions de combat tout en maximisant la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 du personnel.
